Jayanta Banerjee is the Group CIO at Tata Steel Limited, a member of the senior management team, a thought leader in digital, spearheading IT, Digital, Industrial Automation and AI led digital and industry 4.0/5.0 transformation to create business value and being patiently impatient to drive change.

Jayanta has been with Tatas for thirty-two years and has led businesses, strategy, sales, delivery, operations and IT/ digital globally. Prior to joining Tata Steel as CIO, Jayanta has been a Business Leader in TCS, driving the Products and Platforms business and asset monetization strategy and governance.

Jayanta has been the Business leader and Global Head of TCS’ Energy and Resources business. Jayanta has played key leadership roles in industry initiatives specific to manufacturing, Life Sciences, CPG, Energy and Natural Resources. He has spearheaded strategic transformations in these verticals.

He has been instrumental in nurturing many strategic partnerships for TCS and now driving a significant business value transformation program at Tata Steel as CIO leveraging new age digital, IT, industrial automation and AI.

Jayanta is also on the boards of mJunction services ltd and Tata Steel Business Delivery Center ltd and also works with several industry bodies and forums including World Economic Forum, CII and others on industry 4.0.5.0 initiatives. He is an active empaneled member in the World Economic Forum advanced manufacturing council. He is also an alumnus of CEDEP France, AIMA Berkeley and Ross School of business (TMTC).

He is actively into fitness and a mentor to the aspiring leaders in the IT industry. He has been an extensive traveler and speaker across the globe and takes keen interest in groundbreaking initiatives.
